Before Your Scan
- Usually no preparation is required
- Remove any metal accessories in the head and neck area
During the Scan
- OPG: Stand or sit with chin on a support while the machine rotates around your head
- CT Dentascan: Lie on the table while the scanner captures 3D images
- Both procedures are painless and quick
After the Scan
- You can return to normal activities immediately
- Reports are sent to your referring dentist or specialist
Dental Imaging Costs & Billing
- OPG scans are bulk billed for eligible patients with a valid referral.
- CT Dentascan scans are bulk billed when referred by a GP or specialist.
- Some specialised procedures or private referrals may incur out-of-pocket fees.
