Our clinics provide advanced bulk billed Computed Tomography (CT) imaging using modern low-dose technology for accurate, fast diagnosis.

Computed Tomography - CT Scan

Our clinics provide advanced bulk billed Computed Tomography (CT) imaging using modern low-dose technology for accurate, fast diagnosis.

CT scans produce detailed cross-sectional images of bones, organs, blood vessels, and soft tissues. They are commonly used to diagnose injury, infection, cancer, vascular disease, and internal conditions.

Availability: CT scans are available at all of our clinic locations.

What Is a CT Scan?

A CT (Computed Tomography) scan uses advanced X-ray technology combined with computer processing to create highly detailed 3D images of the body.

Compared to a standard X-ray, CT imaging provides significantly greater detail and is often used when more precise information is required.

What to Expect During Your CT Appointment

Before Your Scan

  • You may need to fast for certain CT scans
  • Some scans require contrast dye (injection)
  • Inform staff of allergies, kidney problems, or pregnancy

During the Scan

  • You lie comfortably on a scanning table
  • The scanner moves around you (it does not enclose you fully like an MRI)
  • The scan typically takes 5–15 minutes
  • The procedure is painless

Most patients can return to normal activities immediately after their scan.

Is CT Safe?

CT scans use higher radiation doses than standard X-rays, but modern scanners are designed to use the lowest dose necessary while maintaining image quality.

All scans are clinically justified and performed under strict radiation safety guidelines.

If contrast is required, our team will assess kidney function and allergy history beforehand.

Your scan is reviewed by a radiologist and a report is sent directly to your referring doctor. Urgent scans are prioritised.
CT uses X-rays and is faster, making it ideal for emergency and bone imaging. MRI uses magnetic fields and is better for soft tissue and neurological imaging.
