What to Expect During CT or Ultrasound-Guided Procedures
Before the Procedure
- Bring your referral and any relevant imaging or medical history
- Inform staff of all medications, allergies, or bleeding disorders
- You may be advised to avoid certain medications prior to the procedure
During the Procedure
- You will lie comfortably on the procedure table
- The radiologist uses CT or fluoroscopic guidance to target the injection site accurately
- Local anaesthetic is applied to minimise discomfort
- The procedure typically takes 15–30 minutes, depending on the type of injection
After the Procedure
- Minor soreness or bruising at the injection site may occur
- Most patients can resume light activities, while strenuous activity may be restricted for a few days
- Your referring doctor will advise on follow-up care and monitor treatment response
